I have been tagged by countryparson for this "Random 8" thing:
a) I have to post these rules before I give you the facts.
b) Each player starts with eight random facts/habits about themselves.
c) People who are tagged need to write their own blog about their eight things & post these rules.
d) At the end of your blog, you need to choose eight people to get tagged and list their names.
e) Don’t forget to leave them a comment telling them they are tagged and to visit your blog.
1) I found the true love of my life on June 11th, 1997 while drinking beer in a shiny silver shirt...and the first thing I said to her was "do you have any eyeliner?" I was so worried that I would forget her phone number (she was thinking I would never remember it when she gave it to me) that I called my answering machine and garbled it on the recording for future use. Tell me that wasn't genius!
2) I grew up in Glencoe, AL. I started working construction at 15; joined the Subway team (as a "master baker"--that's what we were called before they invented the "sandwich maker" slogan) at 16 through high school; worked at Kmart in college; went to JSU for 5 years did B.S. and M.S. work; started Auburn at 23 received my Ph.D. at 27 (and got married!); did a one year post-doc in Stoneville, MS (USDA); taught at Univ of West GA (Carollton, GA) for two years; taught at Tenn Tech (Cookeville, TN) for two years; and now have been employed for two years by the State of AL as a Field Botanist, currently living in Auburn. Along the way (since first renting in 1994) I have moved 14 times.
3) My cars have been in order of owning them: 1983 Ford Escort, 1991 Ford T-Bird, 1992 Nissan Truck*, 1993 VW Golf, 1998 Subaru Forester*, and a 1999 Subaru Outback*. I still own the ones with an asterisk.
4) I have two 11 year old cats that are sisters and one very spoiled 4 year old dog. The cats do not know their names and are referred to as "My Cat" and "Priscilla's Cat". Bowie is the dog. He is the best dog ever. Period.
5) I seriously hate tv. However, I have one new show that I love: "The Soup" on E! They basically make fun of all the crappy shows on tv for 30 minutes each week. Watch a couple of episodes and you'll be hooked.
6) I am now considering myself a runner. Although I am not in the same league with the "real runners" of the world. For me, I am a runner. I can run a 10k (6.2 miles) in 51 minutes. I hope to shave some time off of that mark when I run a 10k race on November 3rd at Calloway Gardens.
7) I can not understand how someone does not aspire to see beauty in all things. I have had for most of my life an inner peace. Seriously, an inner vibration that I wish everyone could have. I hope to always see the good, leave behind the bad, and bring smiles to those around me. If you stay close to the nature and don't want for too much, you can find this.
8) I have always wanted to adopt a child.

I know this is an old post...but this is a really cute picture of you two!
You can probably find my random 8 in my essays, but in a thousand times more words than you used. I agree 100 percent with #7. I also enjoyed looking at your photo blogs. I've wondered about the pros and cons of posting photos on Flickr vs. a blog. The blog seems to allow for longer commentaries in a more aesthetic presentation. I have some so far too-poorly-informed impressions about the unusualness of the Grand Junction flora that I may try to turn into a blog someday. Thanks for the link to your blog.
